Here's my follow-up to Ipecac's post for their 'Point Blank' record.

Along with Alex Newport and Max Cavalera, Nailbomb also featured the drumming expertise of a couple of fine fellows including Igor Cavalera, Barry Schneider, and the one and only D.H. Peligro; just check out the rendition of the Dead Kennedys 'Police Truck' that they tear through in this set recorded live at the Dynamo Open Air Festival in Eindhoven, Holland on June 3, 1995. Also, there's a dvd of this same performance that Roadrunner put out back in 2005 that's most definitely worth tracking down.

so why not post some flowerhead

and in case you didn't know...both bands are connected

you see...in the foo fighters song "watershed" on their self-titled album...dave grohl makes reference to the band with the lyrics "i wanna swim in a watershed/i wanna listen to flowerhead"

and upon listening to the aforementioned album...you can clearly hear a flowerhead influence

the best way to describe this album would be this:

this is like listening to the smashing pumpkins in a psychedelic soundgarden

i've been on a wee bit of a dave grohl kick as of late (come on...he's dreamy and you know it)

and it was at around 4:00am...and i was halfway through an episode of the show M*A*S*H (you know the one...the one with the wacky hawkeye shenanigans)...and for some reason i found myself thinking that there could be some folks that would appreciate some foo fighters on SGM

so here it is

and you know you were one of the folks that would get stoked back in the day when the video for "i'll stick around" or "big me" (admit it...you wished footos existed) or "everlong" (you know you wanted a big hand) would come on the mtv

and you can't listen to this album and not think of bands like husker du or the replacements or some other bands that aren't from the twin cities area

also of interest...all of the instruments on this album were played by dave grohl (except for the song "x-static"...he was joined by greg dulli of afghan whigs fame on guitar)

now...what you get here is what can best be described as "unsane but heavier...the jesus lizard with less guitar lines and more riffs...and a more pissed off melvins"

and all of this is being lead by a set of very capable vocal chords that go by the name of natalia williams

this is actually a repackaged version of a demo the band had released back in 2007...and the only complaint i have about the whole thing is that it's way too short

and from what i've heard...the band may or may not be releasing anything else
