Label: bootleg
Year: 2002
Four songs recorded for the Welsh BBC (which, you may or may not have deduced on your own by piecing together the various clues hidden in the very title of this post...murder mystery!), which don't seem like first generation to me, but then again, I'm not Welsh. Not "bad" sound quality by any means, just doesn't necessarily sound like a radio broadcast, especially when you're used to hearing all the John Peel sessions and whatnot. Small quibble though.
You do get a non-album track (non released for all I can tell) "Date Celebrities Or Die", which is a particularly noisy throb of a song. You get "Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues", which is the "hit" I guess, or at least in my mind it is. Sort of a perfect song really. Then you get "Ain't No Fool In Ferguson", which came out as a single a couple years later. And you get "Alan Is A Cowboy Killer", which was on the 'Mclusky Does Dallas' album, and is a wonderful testament to the band's misanthropic humor. So long as you're not in the cross-hairs I suppose. Nothing worse than being brow-beaten by someone more clever than you (not that I'd know).

Cheers Gray, one of my favourite bands of all time, and certainly the best Welsh thing ever.
Nice to see you're still posting great music long after most of the others chucked it in. Wimps.
Same here -- love the band, love the blog. Thanks for this, can't have too much mclusky. I will always regret missing their ATL show at Smith's Old Bar.
Would you please re-up this? It's expired on Zippyshare.
