Mainliner - Mellow Out

Label: Riot Season
Year: 2013

Riot Season continues a long running hot streak of essential noise rock records, lovely curated by someone (some people) with impeccable taste. They're one of the rare breed that you can purchase from in good faith simply based on the label's name alone.
Well, now they've gone and repressed the much ballyhooed Japanese band Mainliner's 1995 album Mellow Out, a record bursting at the seams with feedback rich, freaked out, propulsive groove thud. It's three songs, two of which drone on for over 15 minutes a piece, of super heavy psychedelic ass whippings. Crucial.
Members of the band are/were in Acid Mothers Temple, The Seventh Seal, and about a million other bands you, nor I, have probably ever heard of.
The band is back together, under the banner Kawabata Makoto's Mainliner, and touring Europe soon.
Buy this and destroy not only your own hearing, but that of everyone within a square hectare.
