San Antonio's Boxcar Satan's 3rd LP (and in my opinion their best) "Upstanding and Indigent" blends a variety of sounds and sonic brutality. Beefheart-esque vocals over top of thundering bass lines and wailing slide guitar. These guys have always been low on the radar, and it's a shame because they truly have a unique sound and always delivered live. One of the better bands to come out of Texas in the 90's - early 2000 era.
