In the wake of Murder City Devils came Dead Low Tide, which combined the vocals, guitars, and drums of the aforementioned band with the bass of ex-Godheadsilo Mike Kunka. Nice huh? Well, it didn't last long, and before this record was even released, the band had split. Fortunately, Spencer Moody and Mike Kunka grabbed Dan Haugh (also of Godheadsilo) to play drums and they soldiered on as Smoke and Smoke (which was posted some months ago...search for it). 

If you liked Smoke And Smoke, imagine less bass and more guitar. If you liked Murder City Devils, imagine more straightforward rock. If you liked Enemymine...you're out of luck. Sorry.

I like Spencer Moody's vocals and lyrics, so anything he is associated with will at least warrant a listen, plus when you add Mike Kunka to the mix, you pretty much gotta at least hear what they're up to right? This record isn't as awesome as I want it to be, but it's still really good. A lot of people lament "what could have been" with Dead Low Tide, but I think Smoke And Smoke are fantastic, and so I for one am glad Dead Low Tide set the stage and split.
