Ok, so I went back and renamed the Sub Pop Singles Club files to eliminate any "/" or """'s form the name. Hopefully, if you were having any issues with the extraction of those files, this will remedy the situation.

All submission mp3's must be encoded at 320kbps and rougly 58mins - 65 minutes. Keep in mind that I will edit in an intro and an ending so keep your mixes as close to an hour as possible. If your last song runs over, that's fine.  Be creative and have fun.

Rapeman - Sub Pop Singles Club 7"

What more needs to be said about Rapeman? The Voltron-like assemblage of Steve Albini, David Wm. Sims, and Ray Washham who slashed their way through a post-Big Black world with bombast and aplomb. They, who flirted with offensiveness at every turn, and challenged the tastemakers of the underground to defend their own neurotic assumptions about what was "ok".
Pretty sure this has been posted here before...but...again, we're trying to be completists here.

Das Damen - Sub Pop Singles Club 7"

Squeaky clean by Sub Pop standards, Das Damen was a NYC band who bounced around from Ecstatic Peace to SST to Twin/Tone, and sorta worked on each of those labels. My memory of Das Damen is as the band who opened for Nirvana at the Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill in (I believe) October of 1991...it was a school night...I remember that much.
The B-side to this 7" is a cover of The Creation's "Making Time" long before you heard that song on the Rushmore movie soundtrack.

Tad / Pussy Galore - Sub Pop Singles Club 7"

Oh, fuck yes. This record is near and dear to my own heart, as it has Tad "covering" my favorite Black Flag song, and then Pussy Galore "covering" my second favorite Black Flag song, and since Black Flag is the greatest band of all time...then...I mean...c'mon. Essential!
This one has been posted at least twice before on this blog, but for completion's sake, here it is again.

Mad Daddies - Sub Pop Singles Club 7"

The name Mad Daddies had me worried that this was going to be the ska entry into the Singles Club, and lord knows, there really isn't much worse in this world than ska. But, then the Peter Bagge cover art leads you to believe that this could be some Estrus Records styled cowpunk-greaser-retro thing.
So, what is it?
Would you believe blues damaged psychobilly sleaze? How about if I told you Slim Chance from The Cramps was a member of the band? Make more sense?

Afghan Whigs - Sub Pop Singles Club 7"

Damn, I do love me some Afghan Whigs! Nobody else sounds like they do, then or now. And, that's got to be the ultimate compliment, right? It's meant to be.
This band seemed destined to be huge...and they got sorta big (a video on 120 Minutes is nothing to sneeze at! That Dave Kendall was the Ricki Rachtmann of alterna-ness back then!)...then got small again, and then came roaring back a couple years ago to the praise that had alluded them way back when. Sorta.

Helios Creed - Sub Pop Singles Club 7"

The exact guitar freakout weirdness you have come to expect from Helios Creed. Sort of the Travis Bickle of noise rock (unless you count Steve Austin of Today As The Day as the 'Travis Bickle of noise rock"...which is a point I might concede), all negative, all abrasive, always pointing out your faults.

Les Thugs - Sub Pop Singles Club 7"

Sub Pop reaches far afield...all the way to France for this one. Two songs of punky power pop. Although you could make a case that The Flaming Lips weren't "big" at the time of their Singles Club release, I would say Les Thugs were even less big. They had a release on Alternative Tentacles later on, but most of their material stayed on the Motherland, and we Yankees only caught a glimpse here and there.
