ciccone youth - the whitey album

released in 1989

named after madonna (her last name being ciccone) this is essentially sonic youth with mike watt (the minutemen/fiREHOUSE) making a "tribute" to 80's pop music

they never played live...but released two albums (this being their second)...it contains three 80's covers ("burnin' up" (featuring black flag guitarist greg ginn) and "into the groove(y)" by madonna...and "addicted to love" by robert palmer the vocals were recorded inside a karaoke booth at a mall)...dinosaur jr's j mascis is also featured on the album (on the song "two cool rock chicks listening to neu")
